Senior boys can sometimes be a bit tougher to crack—they tend to be more intimidated by the camera than girls, I’ve found. But once you build a genuine connection, they start to relax. As a mom of three boys, I totally get it. I keep things lighthearted by throwing in references to viral memes that make them cringe (and laugh) at me. By keeping it casual and fun, (and kinda making a fool of myself, lol) they begin to crack a bit. I also do my best to tap into what they’re passionate about—what drives them, where they’re headed, and how they plan to get there. Eventually, we get to those honest, authentic expressions that result in those perfect keepsake images for mom.
